Artist Statement 2026
tylerdurdan* is an artistic and research-driven project exploring creativity, authorship and cultural identity in the age of artificial intelligence.
Working across music, visual storytelling and writing, the project investigates how generative technologies are transforming the meaning of creation, responsibility and human expression. Rather than treating artificial intelligence as a purely technical tool, tylerdurdan* approaches it as a cultural condition — one that reshapes language, aesthetics and artistic agency.
At the center of the practice lies a fundamental question:
what does it mean to remain human within automated systems of production?

Official Profiles
Practice
The work moves between experimental music, photographic research and critical writing. AI-generated voice and computational processes are used not to replace authorship, but to expose it — revealing intention, direction and ethical choice as the true core of creative work.
Projects developed under tylerdurdan* examine themes such as technological acceleration, political memory, identity, media culture and collective narratives, often positioned between documentary reality and algorithmic interpretation.
The album Secondo represents a central chapter of this research, reflecting on the concept of measure — between excess and absence — as a metaphor for contemporary society.
